Hi all! It’s been a while since I’ve updated because I’ve had some major life changes recently. I switched jobs and am now doing data entry for a consumer electronics company. I am basically putting all the information that goes in to an app for the nabi tablet (an Android tablet for kids) that kids and their families can then play.
So, better late than never, here are my five best/new/favorite things for the month of May!
I love this game. Doing the beta weekends was great. It plays like Diablo, WoW, Torchlight, etc. but with all of your favorite Marvel heroes and super villains. One of the clients I had at the job I just left is actually the head of game design over at Marvel and was working on this game. It was fun to give him a tiny bit of in-person feedback. If you’re out there, Mr. Big Stuff (cue: “Who do you think you are, Mr. Big Stuff?” sung by hot, permed-out, 80’s-style back-up singers) I said The Incredible Hulk was my favorite character the last time we talked, but you know what, it’s actually Thor.
2. Star Trek: Into Darkness
I saw this in theaters this past weekend and I absolutely LOVED it. I was so worried that I would be disappointed as often happens with sequels, but I was surprised at how much I enjoyed it. I would say that it is equal to, if not better than, the first in J.J. Abram’s series. I loved Benedict Cumberbatch as the villain. I won’t give too much away about the film as it hasn’t been out long and I’m not sure who knows what about the characters and plot, but let’s just say it has some brilliant twists.
3. Iron Man 3
I saw Iron Man 3 when it first came out and I am happy to say that I enjoyed it as well. It was a completely different movie than the first (which I couldn’t get enough of) but in a good way. I find that some times if you take a movie for what it is, it can drastically change how you view it. Taking this for what it was, a stand alone movie, helped me in enjoying it.
4. True Blood
I am so excited for the new season of True Blood starting up in a couple of weeks. One of my friends is over at HBO and I just found out that she knows Alexander Skarsgard. I was literally like, “WHAT?! HOW DID IT TAKE ME THIS LONG TO HEAR THAT YOU KNOW SOMEONE IN MY TOP FIVE?! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!” *Brain explosion* I’ve been watching the trailers and teasers and I am nerdgasming with delight. Yes, I am ready to run for the television at the drop of a hat.
5. Game of Thrones
I have had some time to step away from the books and I have found that it helps when watching Game of Thrones. Just like with Iron Man 3, if you take Game of Thrones as its own separate work that is there to entertain, it is far more enjoyable. As usual, I will be doing a season wrap up when it is all over. I never look forward to the end of a season of one of my favorite shows, but I do look forward to talking about it.
That’s it for now, kids! Thank you for being so patient. Until next time…
