Five things for September

As I previously mentioned, I’ve decided to start a list of five things every month that I’m really digging at the moment. It’s a call-back to my old blog in which I listed something that brought joy to my life every day. This one just won’t be as intense. This way every once and a while you might hear about something you want to check out or discover something new that becomes your favorite thing of the moment. I don’t know if anyone will even care but I’ve gotta do something with my time right?
1. Words With Friends

I am in love with this game! I’ve always been a Scrabble person so this is just the next step in my obsession. Play me!

2. Smodcast

My husband isn’t the last man I hear in bed at night. Don’t worry, it’s not because I’m a tramp. I just like to listen to the podcast Smodcast before I drift off. Yes, every night I listen to Kevin Smith and Scott Mosier discuss sharks, The Matrix, sex with their wives, and a bevy of other topics and try in vain not to wake Ricky up with my stifled laughter.

Here’s a clip from one of my favorite episodes:

(Try to ignore their repeated use of the other f-word. It’s not cool with me either but I know they don’t mean it as a slur.)

I don’t personally have a Facebook account but it sure is fun to read through all of its users idiotic posts. Well, it’s sort of fun. It makes you laugh and weep for the world all at once.

4. Childish Gambino

I’m all about Donald Glover right now because he’s so talented. He’s a comedian, an actor, and a singer/rapper. He’s got great taste in music too. If you click his name you’ll hear one of my favorite songs by Gambino, but fair warning, it’s pretty aggressive. If you want a softer song, check out the video below where he raps over Grizzly Bear’s Two Weeks. It’s lovely.

5. Supernatural

Ricky and I are all about this show right now. We like to find a show and work our way through it season by season and this is one we’ve somewhat recently adopted. We’re big sci-fi/horror/fantasy geeks though so I’m not sure why it took so long.

This picture was too awesome not to use. Thanks,!

Hilarious and charming. He actually tells a story about the first thing on my list!

Well, I’m working hard on another Song of Ice and Fire post as well as some other exciting stuff. Keep reading and be on the look out for my Five Things of October post! I’ve got some exciting things to announce shortly.
